We spent Benson's 2nd birthday hiking around the mountains. It was a beautiful day and we had a great time. There's a waterfall not too far from us called Eagle Falls and we discovered it. We love living up here in the mountains and we're finally starting to get out and get to know all that Tahoe has to offer.
This was the lower falls.
Nice shot of Zoe's rear end. She could climb rocks all day.
Our hike/climb to the upper falls. Benson could only handle so many stairs before he needed to be carried.
Stumpin' it.
A lovely view of Emerald Bay.
Taking a break along the way.
Happy to be outdoors!
Happy daddy and sleeping baby.
On our hike back up from the stone castle (Vikingsholm, seen in pictures below), a nice lady, Sylvina from Argentina, offered to carry our cooler. Our kids had no energy and needed to be carried. We soon ran out of hands. It was so nice of her to help us.
Ryan carried Zoe on his shoulders.....
..... I had Ruthie on the front and Benson on the back.
The view of Emerald Bay from Vikingsholm. Beautiful clear (and cold!) water. The kids loved it though.
Vikingsholm - built in 1904 and finished in 1915.... I think. They give tours of it, but we passed on it. There's no way the kids would have lasted through it.
Our little nature lover.
I love that beautiful places like this are only 15 minutes from our house.
